Salzburg Research is researching and developing digital technologies and services for companies in order to better understand and use data and movement behaviour, to design agile systems and sustainable business models and to optimise processes, products and facilities.
Salzburg Research opened up the potential of telecom diagnostics data for fault diagnostics in the low-voltage grid for an electricity distribution grid operator: with the help of machine learning, the cause of approx. 70 percent of low-voltage grid faults can be automatically detected without additional hardware.

Troubleshooting a time-critical one-to-many push voice service. Salzburg Research simulated the service with virtual measuring points and measured the connection. In this way, the error could be identified and rectified quickly.
Salzburg Research systematically and continuously recorded the broadband availability in a federal state and created a neutral, provider-independent database for evaluating mobile broadband availability.
