i-Twin – Semantic Integration Patterns for Data-driven Digital Twins in the Manufacturing Industry

i-Twin investigates interoperability concepts for data-driven digital twins in the manufacturing industry. The project propagates an open source middleware for the integration of operational management systems and connected assets based on semantic integration pat-terns. It aims at reducing the integration effort and allowing exchange of master data and operational data in manufacturing networks. The results are validated in a research laboratory set-up and in an industrial asset management scenario.

HWS – Platform-based AI System for Human Motion Analysis to optimize Ergonomics of Hybrid Work Systems in Industry

HWS deals with the increasing levels of automation and the use of collaborative robots, making the shop floor a complex socio-technological system whose processes still need to be safe and secure for humans working in these environments. We take a human-centered view on the planning, analyzing and monitoring of industrial work processes.

more

ECOSINT – Energy Community System Integration

Consumption of energy within the framework of local energy communities (LECs for short). However, a positive effect on the operation of the energy networks is the top priority.

EFPF: European Connected Factory Platform for Agile Manufacturing

The EFPF project realises a federated smart factory ecosystem by initially interlinking four smart factory platforms, from the FoF-11-2016 cluster, through an open and interoperable Data Spine. The federation of the 4 base platforms is complemented by industrial platforms, collaboration tools and smart factory systems, specifically selected to support connected factories in lot-size-one manufacturing. more

5G-AI-MLab

Digitisation in the areas of Industry 4.0 and autonomous driving is rapidly gaining in importance. Wireless communication networks form the necessary basis for this. Since their performance cannot be measured at all place and at all times, it will be necessary to predict performance. more

R2C2 – Reconfigurable Real-time Communication for Cyber-Physical Systems of Systems

Dynamically reconfigurable software-defined real-time networks with AI support more

MINER – Measurement Infrastructure for Network Research

MINER is a programmable software platform that supports users in conducting distributed experiments. So far, MINER has been primarily used for performance evaluation in computer networks. However, the platform can be equally applied to conduct distributed experiments that are not related to network measurements. more

IoT4CPS – Trustworthy IoT for CPS

The main focus of IoT4CPS will be on developing, producing and operating, highly trustable components and applications for Connected and Automated Driving. more

ZSE – Zentrum für sichere Energieinformatik

The ZSE enables the secure and comprehensive networking of data of all participants in intelligent energy networks.

more

NIMBLE

An open source based infrastructure for B2B platforms that can be customised for regional and sector-specific applications. Small or large enterprises can join, define supply chains and can synchronise their production logistics. more

5G-MLab

Wireless networks need to be reliable for many applications. In this project we developed methods to measure the reliability of wireless networks.

more

EMBS – Energy Management Building Set

The EMBS project develops an innovative, integrated control and planning system for demand-response and optimization of multi-utility/-energy devices and installations. more

MMAssist II

Assistance systems in production in the context of human – machine cooperation more

Virtuegrid – Virtualisation for resilient and secure Smart Grid communication networks

Ongoing digitisation of power grids by large numbers of ICT-components for the purpose of extensive integration of renewable energy sources (REC) is demanding for novel system management strategies. The VirtueGrid project evaluates the potentials emerging from using virtualisation technolgies in the area of power grid control. more

MESSE – Model-based Engineering and Validation Support for Cyber-Physical Energy Systems

The massive deployment of distributed generators from renewable sources in recent years has led to a fundamental paradigm change in terms of planning and operation of the electric power system. MESSE develops of a concept for a model-based engineering and validation support system, covering the overall engineering process for smart grid applications – from use case design to validation and deployment. more
