Hypervideo – Interactive TV with Web Browsers
National research project in co-operation with Telekom Austria (2000-2001)
During the Hypervideo project Schmunzel, a SMIL 1.0 (Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language) compliant multimedia player, was developed. The name ‘Schmunzel’ (pronounced “shmoontsle”) is German for “a little smile”.
Some outstanding features of Schmunzel are: – entirely implemented in Java – virtual desktop anchors in images and videos – nested SMIL presentations.
