ESYCS – Embedded Systems Cluster Salzburg

Regional cluster to push the recently emerged knowledge potential in the field of Embedded Systems.

The project aims to push the recently emerged knowledge potential in the field of Embedded Systems, which is so far insufficiently used in the region of Salzburg in terms of economic inpact. It will thus be supporting the regional economy to participate in co-operations at national and international level. Particular instruments will be used to support “Target-2 Areas”.

Thereby the following topics, in which Salzburg Research in Co-operation with the Polytechnical University of Salzburg and the University of Salzburg have gained expertise, will be considered: Distributed Embedded Systems, Software-Engineering for Real-time systems, Evaluation of Real-time OSes, Tele-Haptics, Building Automisation, Location-based Services.

For the work on specific items “Reference Labs” for Haptics, Real-time and Software-Engineering will be established, where Students Projects and Diploma Thesis can be conducted in close co-operation with Salzburg’s economy. An extra “Education Modul” guarantees that the acquired know-how will be disseminated via the involved educational institutions, e.g. by courses, trainings, or studies.

ESYCS is funded by the State of Salzburg (Dep. 15) and the European Union (European Fund for Regional Development – EFRE).
