Innovation Cheque for SMEs

The Innovation Cheque of EUR 5,000 supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in implementing their innovative ideas and projects together with national scientific experts. The Innovation Cheque’s objective is to make it easier for SMEs to enter into continuous research and innovation activities and to lower the inhibition threshold for cooperations with research institutions.

TechNet, the technology transfer network of Forschung Austria, is an ideal partner for companies in need of research and development work. TechNet provides them with access to more than 2000 experts and finds exactly the right research partner for their individual needs. As a member of Forschung Austria, Salzburg Research is one of these possible partners. The selected research institution provides the company with individual consulting services and works together with them on studies addressing the implementation of innovative ideas, feasibility analyses, business models and more. The services provided by the research institution are covered by means of the Innovation Cheque and absolute confidentiality is guaranteed.

The Innovation Cheque can be obtained from the Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft (FFG), who also provides detailed information on funding requirements. Every SME based in Austria can apply for the Cheque once a year. The program is run by the FFG on behalf of the BMVIT and BMWFJ.
