Smart Summer is an action of Salzburg Research together with the Federation of Industrialists Salzburg, the Chamber of Commerce, ITG, Salzburg University of Applied Science, Salzburg University and akzente Salzburg. Support comes from the province of Salzburg. Until August 4th, the young participants will be able to experience for a week each, which facets of technical professions there are: 3D printers, robots, the latest computers, or sniffing into research and development departments.

“Technical understanding has become a core competency in our digitized world. It is vital for the economic center of Salzburg that young people are interested and choose a technical career,“ says Landeshauptmann Wilfried Haslauer. “Technology and computer science offer more than ever outstanding professional opportunities, because the economy urgently needs technical specialists at all levels. The technology and IT weeks are therefore an excellent opportunity to get to know technology and develop a first interest in technical training.”

The following companies are exhibiting their fields of activity: A1, SKIDATA, IBM, Sony, Solaris, APG, Palfinger AG, Porsche Informatik, Liebherr-Werke Bischofshofen, ÖBB Infrastruktur AG, Atomic, COPA-DATA, Salzburg AG, W&H Dentalwerk Bürmoos and eurofunk Kappacher. They open their doors during the Technology and IT Holiday Weeks and give the 90 pupils an insight into everyday business life.
