This session’s title suggests that research is the motor behind transformation. Hence, if Fridays are for future, then Thursdays are for research. In particular, we will discuss the role of applied research in the great transformation. What do we need to transform? What first? How can we do that? What is the role for RTOs (research and technology organisations)? What is the role of companies? How can politics and funding agencies put the right framework conditions in place?
