Automated driving is a technological development that will change or even revolutionize the mobility of the future. In recent years, various vehicle functions have been automated to an increasing degree – the aim of the technology is the fully automated vehicle, which manages without drivers.

The debate on these developments has so far taken place mainly at the political, economic and scientific level and hardly at the level of the citizens. However, this form of technological revolution will not only affect our mobility but also our way of life, living conditions, our living environment and jobs.

Automated Driving: Your Opinion is in Demand

On April 6, 2019 you have the opportunity to have a say. Will automated mobility lead to a better quality of life? Will the environment benefit? Does it lead to better accessibility and better quality of life for rural and urban areas? How will automated driving affect the economy, employment and public finances? Are automated vehicles shared? Are you a step towards more safety on our roads? How can we adapt our societies to this new form of mobility?

The international citizen dialogue aims to capture the perspective of the citizens. The results allow insights into desires, concerns and perceptions from the perspective of the citizen in order to derive suggestions and recommendations. Make an important contribution to shaping national strategies in the field of automated mobility with your participation!

An International Event

The dialogue between citizens is not limited to Salzburg or Austria. In the spring of 2019, around 5,000 citizens in 50 cities in Europe and North America will discuss the future with automated vehicles according to a uniform process and procedure in a one-day dialogue with citizens. At each participating place, a group of randomly selected citizens will meet and spend a day informing each other, exchanging views and expressing their opinions.

Organizers of the Citizen Dialogue

Partner of the Citizen Dialogue on Automated Mobility in Salzburg is the Province of Salzburg. It supports the development of innovative technologies that make the transport system more efficient and that focus on sharing transport. Organizer of the Citizen Dialogue is Salzburg Research. The research institute specializing in the Internet of Things is testing i.a. autonomous minibuses in Salzburg and Lower Austria.
