175 Years Doppler Effect

It has been 175 years since the Salzburg physicist Christian Doppler first published the Doppler Effect named after him. His idea of the “Doppler Effect” (1842) gained fundamental importance in almost all areas of our lives. To date, this effect has played a large part in various innovations. At the same time, Doppler was not easy at all – his theory was long and vehemently doubted and smiled at.

Numerous activities are a monument to the famous Salzburg scientist in the Jubilee year 2017. These include youth work, the Christian Doppler Symposium, a lecture series as well as the new Christian Doppler knowledge platform www.christian-doppler.net.

The program for the young people was compiled by the Christian Doppler Fonds in collaboration with Salzburg Research. The graffiti workshop was supported by the city (youth office). The knowledge platform is being developed under the auspices of Salzburg Research, together with the Christian Doppler Fonds as well as other partners, and is sponsored by the Province of Salzburg.
