Study Seeks Participants for AI-Assisted Physical Activity Planning
How does it feel to create a personal physical activity plan together with an AI assistant? A study in Salzburg is looking for adult participants who would like to try out an AI-assisted planning situation and share their experiences.
Understanding AI in everyday life
AI assistants are increasingly used to support personal tasks, such as planning, reflection or structuring goals. In a current study, the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Digital Health and Prevention, together with Salzburg Research Forschungsgesellschaft and LMU Munich, is investigating how people collaborate with an AI system when developing an individual physical activity plan.
The focus is not on athletic performance, but on the interaction with AI: What works well? What feels natural? Where do misunderstandings or uncertainties arise?
What participation involves
Participation consists of one in-person session in Salzburg and takes around 90 minutes. Participants will have a guided conversation with an AI chatbot and develop a personal four-week physical activity plan step by step. They will also complete short questionnaires and discuss their impressions with a researcher.
No prior experience with AI, sport or training is required. People from a wide range of backgrounds are welcome. Participants must be at least 18 years old, able to communicate well in English and available to attend an appointment in Salzburg.
In-person participation in Salzburg
The study takes place at the SALK campus, Lindhofstraße 22, 5020 Salzburg. The entire session will be conducted in English. As a thank-you, participants will receive a Salzburg Altstadt voucher worth 20 euros.
