Charity Challenge 2026: Raising Kilometers for Children in Need
Salzburg Research will participate in the 2026 Salzburg Business Run Charity Challenge. From June 17 to September 17, employees will collect kilometres for a good cause by walking, running, hiking, or doing Nordic walking. Every step will support children and families facing difficult life situations.
Exercise for a good cause
In the Charity Challenge, companies from Salzburg compete against each other in a sporting event that supports a charitable cause. Over the course of several weeks, participants log kilometers while fostering physical activity, team spirit, and social engagement.
Every kilometer traveled counts. Participating companies convert the total distance covered into a donation of 26 cents per kilometer. Since 2019, Salzburg Research has been a regular participant in the initiative and will demonstrate its commitment to social responsibility and active collaboration once again in 2026.
Support for families dealing with mental health challenges
In 2026, donations will go to the JoJo Association. The association supports children and families affected by mental health challenges, offering counseling and assistance. This makes the association a beacon of hope for people suffering from mental health challenges in their families.
Strong results last year
In 2025, 647 participants from 30 companies collectively covered 152,819 kilometers. This effort raised 48,700 euros in donations. The Salzburg Research team contributed approximately 4,300 kilometers to this total.
In 2026, the motto will be the same as before: Move Together, Rack Up Kilometers, and Do Good. Every activity makes a difference, whether it’s your daily commute, a run, a hike, or a walk.
