Alpine Sicherheit
The Innovation Camp is a training program designed for individuals who guide others in the mountains, either full-time or part-time. The program aims to provide participants with research-based knowledge, innovations, and technologies, as well as specific recommendations to improve alpine safety.
Alpine tourism has a long tradition in Tyrol and throughout Austria. In addition to the training program for mountain guides, which has undergone several reforms since the introduction of the first regulations, other training courses are now available, such as ski guide and mountain hiking guide programs.
According to surveys of professional groups, as well as discussions with researchers and alpine experts, current training programs still do not sufficiently consider factors such as advanced skills, digitalization, and alpine safety. Digitalization, in particular, has influenced mountain sports in recent years, offering many opportunities in terms of safety. Additionally, there is a need for more knowledge about changes due to climatic conditions and the resulting natural hazards in alpine safety.
The main objective of this qualification network is to provide research-oriented knowledge, innovations, technologies, and specific recommendations to improve safety in the working environment of mountain guides, particularly in alpine areas.
SRFG is a project partner organizing two days of workshops on the topics of “Digitization of the Athlete” and “Digitization in the Mountains.”
