CiMo-AI – Digitale Transformation und KI für Tourismus, Sport, Freizeit und Well-being

The European Digital Innovation Hub “Crowd in Motion-AI” provides tailored consulting and services for small and medium-sized enterprises and the public sector to support the green and digital transformation in tourism, sports, leisure, and well-being.

Crowd in Motion-AI is a European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) that supports small and medium-sized enterprises as well as public institutions in the fields of tourism, sports, leisure, and well-being in their digital and AI-driven transformation.

Building on the first funding period (2023–2025), CiMo-AI places a particular focus on artificial intelligence and its integration with crowd-based innovation methods and testing infrastructures. The EDIH offers organisations low-threshold and cost-free access to digitalisation expertise, testing infrastructures, networks, and funding advisory services, and serves as a gateway to the European AI ecosystem.

Led by Salzburg Research Forschungsgesellschaft, the consortium of ten partners offers around 80 tailored services funded up to 100% across four areas:

  • Advanced Digital Skills & Training:
Hands-on training sessions and workshops on digital skills and state-of-the-art technologies.
  • Open Innovation, Crowd Ideation & Networking:
Guidance and implementation of ideation processes drawing on collective intelligence, the development of innovation ecosystems, and cross-border networking within the EDIH network.
  • Test before Invest:
Testing new technologies, developing prototypes and proofs of concept, and validating data-based solutions prior to investment.
  • Support to find Investments:
Assistance in identifying funding opportunities and investors, as well as the implementation of crowdfunding campaigns.

Salzburg Research coordinates the hub and, in addition to overall management, leads the work package on Open Innovation, Crowd Ideation & Networking. The consortium comprises non-profit research and technology organisations, universities, innovation accelerators, crowd platform providers, and digital fabrication labs from the Austrian innovation landscape.

“Crowd in Motion-AI” is part of the EU’s Digital Europe programme and is co-financed by the European Commission and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism. National administration is handled by the FFG.
