Smart Tourism Hub
The Smart Tourism Hub Salzburg is a new data centre that aggregates tourism-related information from the fields of transport, the environment, the economy, sport and visitor behaviour, and intelligently links it all together.

The aim is to make Salzburg a tourism destination fit for the future – through data-driven decisions, sustainable mobility solutions and smart services throughout the entire customer journey.
As a central data hub, the Smart Tourism Hub acts as a bridge between research, technology and practice. Heterogeneous data sources – ranging from mobility data and sensor technology to environmental and behavioural data – are harmonised, analysed and made available for innovative applications.
Objectives of the Smart Tourism Hub
The data from the Hub is intended to enable:
- evidence-based planning frameworks for regions and businesses
- intelligent mobility and visitor guidance
- safe and personalised mountain experiences
- open data infrastructure for new data-driven services and products
