Mag. Dr. Markus Lassnig is senior researcher at the Innovation Lab at Salzburg Research – the department for applied innovation research. His focus of research lies in the following areas: Novel methods in innovation management (innovation in networks, open innovation, analysis of innovation potentials etc.) for product, service, process and business model innovation; Internet economics, digital transformation of businesses and industry, monitoring and analysis of new and innovative formats for e-business, innovation management in networks, benchmarking, market analyses, development of business models, social media mining and trend research. He worked in numerous international studies (especially on behalf of the European Commission) as well as Austrian research projects and contract studies – like e.g. a leading study about the digital transformation by Industry 4.0 / Industrial Internet of Things and new business models (https://i40transform.salzburgresearch.at/ )

Mag. Dr. Markus Lassnig studied communication research and political science at the University of Salzburg. He made his diploma in the field of media economics of digital mass media (2000) and his PhD in the field of Internet economics (2003). He also completed his post-graduate studies in innovation management at the University of Applied Sciences in Wieselburg (2017-2018). Markus Lassnig has been and is lecturing at universities and universities of applied science with a focus on innovation management, digital transformation and development of business models.
