John Pereira is a Senior Project Manager and Community Development Manager at Salzburg Research. He is specialised in the areas of public relations, marketing and community development. He holds a double major BA in Industrial Relations and Legal Studies from the University of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia.
His recent projects as manager include, DigiCULT Forum, provideing technology monitoring services for the European cultural heritage sector; Heritage Alive!, which developed mobile solutions for UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and Knappensteig, which developmed a Touristic mobile solution for the ctiy of Hallein. He also led the Exploitation and Dissemination Panel for the EU-IST (FP6-IP) project LIVE “Live Staging of Media Events”, a large-scale research and development project developing new media technologies for the real-time non-linear TV broadcast of large mass media events, such as the Olympics.
He is currently head of dissemination and community development for the EU-IST (FP7-STREP) KiWi which has developed a semantic social media development platform. And he is also the public relations and community development manager for the EU-IST (FP7-IP) project IKS – “Interactive Knowledge Stack”, a large-scale open source project to bring semantic technologies to Content Management Systems platforms.
