Scientific area Wolf Hilzensauer works as a researcher and project manager in the field of technology enhanced learning.
His focus is in ICT supported innovative educational processes, and multimedia, with a primary focus on
vocational training in SMEs and eLearning frameworks in higher education.
At the centre of his interests the so called "Social Software" concept of design, namely Weblogs,
Wikis and ePortfolios, which he is applying in the design of didactical concepts for innovative learning
environments and develops concepts for competence-based learning processes with the support of ICT-tools.
Wolf Hilzensauer has been involved in several national and international research projects as a researcher
and project manager. Additionally he lectures at the Pedagogical Academy in Salzburg, regularly gives
speeches, and moderates "hands-on" workshops in the use of Social Software for co-operative e-learning,
community oriented and competence-based learning.

Education
Wolf Hilzensauer studied at the Pedagogical Academy in Salzburg (Volksschullehrer und Informatiklehrer).
He also studied at the Academy of Social Work (Diplomsozialarbeiter) and attended the
"Psychotherapeutisches Propädeutikum".
In April 2005 he graduated from the University of Innsbruck focusing on Media Pedagogy
(Diploma Thesis: Kooperatives E-Learning @KMU - Entwicklung einer konstruktivistisch orientierten
Didaktik für Innovationsmanagement. Diploma Thesis
In 2002 he completed the 3-staged certificate "eTutor, eTrainer, eLearning Manager" at the ibis Acam

Work experience
After finishing his civil service at the Red Cross Austria in 1996, Wolf Hilzensauer worked as a Primary
school teacher from 1996 - 2001 in Salzburg. He joined the Salzburg Research Forschungsgesellschaft
in 2002. In the first year, he worked as an ICT-Trainer and project manager for computer courses.
Since 2003, he has been working in national and international projects as a researcher and project manager.
